Hotel Wedding Venue Surrey; Classic Contemporary Wedding at Doubletree Hilton Kingston

21st October 2019

As the seasons change with shorter days and much longer nights, I thought it was time to share this fashion and nature inspired indoor wedding reception editorial at a hotel wedding venue in surrey; Doubletree by Hilton, Kingston upon Thames (UK), to showcase some inspiration for you if you are planning your own indoor wedding with the season change.

Inspired by nature and the fashion world, I took inspiration from the intricate design and details on the gorgeous Tony Ward dress won by Leona Lewis to the 2017 Vanity Fair party and the concept of bringing nature indoors. The dress combined classic style with contemporary colours which makes a great combo for a modern romantic wedding as featured in this elegant editorial.

We chose hotel wedding venue surrey; Doubletree by Hilton in Kingston  for it’s modern clean design, high ceilings and slightly dark interiors to give it that modern feel while still retaining the classic style. So, if you are on hunt for a contemporary hotel wedding venue in surrey for your romantic nuptials, then get ready to be completely inspired!

We created two looks to showcase how you can transition from day to evening as I know wedding days can be such long days. Similarly there is plenty of inspiration if you’re looking for ideas for a morning or evening wedding.

For the morning look, we dressed our bride in a bespoke off shoulder 3 quarter length sleeves tulle wedding dress with sequinned bodice and a full skirt by Audrey Ashley Couture. I wanted the makeup to be almost au natural and subtle to show off her rosy english glow and I would say that Joyce certainly nailed it! (I’m a firm believer in applying subtle makeup to enhance your natural beauty without being overpowering)

Make up and hair artist, Joyce Connor (who did the make up and hair for both looks) kept the hair down with loose curls that framed our bride’s face and accessorised with antique diamond encrusted headpiece and accessories from Krausz Jewellery.

The tablescape was a mix of classic and modern from the different pieces to the linens used. We had an abundance of florals to reinforce our nature indoors concept.

The flowers were a mix of  parvi eucalyptus, trailing asparagus fern, ming fern, trailing green amaranthus, tree ivy and other sumptuous varieties of ferns, with ivory and spray roses, cream lisianthus, hanging yellow orchids and soft blue delphiniums amongst others to balance out the gorgeous floral design by Johanna Pedrick Flowers.

For the tablescape, I used the venue provided classic white table linen and overlaid it with stone coloured table linen (playing off the light stone colour of the Tony Ward dress) A great way to incorporate hotel provided linen into your wedding design – use it as a base linen and then overly it with linens that complement your overall wedding design. The linen also complimented the dark interior of the room and the pops of colour added a much needed lift to the overall design.

I chose silver rimmed charger plates and teal blue dinner plates with agate stone place cards by scritto to add to the modern design. Pri Krujen stationery studio designed the modern stationery suite with infections of our nature inspired theme.

I’m constantly in awe of the talent and creativity found in the wedding industry and the cakes for this was no exception. Tee of Tees Bakery created the rather sophisticated and intricately detailed wedding cakes and cake table and attempted to recreate the intricate design of the Tony Ward dress on one of the cakes.

For the evening look, I set up a mini cocktail bar for wedding guests with nibbles and champagne cocktails. Our bride changed in to a sleeveless light grey tulle wedding dress (also provided by Audrey Ashley Couture) that was so elegant and light as she moved. We pulled the hair up into a classic chignon style that is great for the evening and still kept the make up light and subtle to go with our elegant look.
