Luxury Wedding Planner Surrey: my definition of luxury

9th March 2019

Luxury is often not a word I like to use especially when it comes to weddings because your definition of it will inevitably be different to mine and vice versa. As a luxury wedding planner surrey, I feel part of my job in offering you a luxury service is to understand what that one word means to you and for your wedding and then work with you and my handpicked team to deliver that experience for you.

There’s a misconception that the minute you attach the word luxury to anything, it automatically becomes something that is elusive and for A listers and as a luxury wedding planner surrey, I’m here to bust those myths. I’d much rather you think of it as an experience, of quality, of simple things done really well, of paying attention to the utmost details and of having a great time on your big day. If you think of it in those terms then we’re off to a good start already!

I wanted to share some snippets here of what the word luxury or elegance means to me in the hope that you get a sense of me and whether it aligns with the vision you have in your mind for your wedding so that when it comes to working together, we are both aligned and it certainly makes the wedding planning process that much smoother.

Understated Elegance

I came across a strap line once that says ‘elegance over opulence’ and that really resonated with me. That’s what luxury means to me. Its elegance, its understated, its refined, it’s beautiful without being over done. It provides you with a sense of relaxed and effortless elegance where quality triumphs over quantity, always.

Whether that is with the curated pieces you choose for your wedding design, the artisan food you choose for your wedding breakfast, your bespoke couture wedding dress and suits, the calligraphed invitation suite you send out to your guests, the handpicked seasonal flowers for your day or the quiet relaxed ambience of the wedding day itself, all this adds to create your own unique and luxury wedding.

Relaxed weddings are my best ones to work on. Yes, there’s a sense of formality of the occasion but it is still intimate and relaxed and both you and your guests can kick back, relax and have a good time without worrying about a thing. Your guests have come from all over to help you celebrate so bask in having them around and provide that easy going and relaxed feel to your day and as a luxury wedding planner surrey, it is part of my job to ensure that that happens. Weddings as a celebration of love and what better way to celebrate than in a relaxed, understated atmosphere that puts your love centre stage?

Nothing quite defines luxury to me as having the wedding you want, the way you want it and its my job as a luxury wedding planner surrey to design your wedding to be a true reflection of you both. You want your guests to walk into your wedding and say yes, this is so you. Let’s face it, you wouldn’t want to (and I certainly wouldn’t want you to either) have a cookie cutter version of someone else’s wedding would you? I’d imagine you want your very own unique day so going bespoke gets my vote any day.

I always say that ‘every detail tells a story’ and so it is with curating those all important details that make your day utterly yours. From replicating your dress design on the cake to sourcing and incorporating items that has significant meaning to you as part of the wedding design to personalising your wedding favours, are all great ways to have a bespoke wedding. I once had a bride who used bubble guns as confetti as a way to involve kids at her wedding and it went down a treat!

Attention to detail

The devil is in the details goes the popular saying and I couldn’t agree more! It is the bulk of my job as a luxury wedding planner surrey, It means paying meticulous attention to the details of both your wedding design and your wedding logistics. From finding the right wedding venue, making a note of your guest preferences, to ordering the right shade of linen to complement your wedding flowers to arranging deliveries and getting them delivered at the right place and time, to working with the stationer to get the right font scripts that conveys the feel of your wedding – there is a lot of details to contend with and i’m here to ensure it all happens as they all contribute to ensuring a seamless and memorable wedding experience for you and your guests.

Guest Experience

The way I see it, providing an experience both for you and your guests is part and parcel of your wedding plans (and especially if you’re coming from abroad.). You want your wedding to be as memorable and enjoyable for you and your guests so craft an experience they will remember long after the day is over.

Depending on taste and preferences perhaps plan experiences for your guests ahead of your wedding (wedding weekends are great for this) Both Surrey and London has a lot to offer in making your guests stay a memorable one. From going on walking tours to take in the scenic views of the rolling surrey hills to champagne boat cruises across the thames to afternoon tea on the orient express to more pursuits like hunting, lots of options abound. I will help you to craft experiences that will help your guest to relax and enjoy your wedding weekend. And, even on the wedding day, the attentiveness to which guests are catered to all adds to creating an experience for them. Thinking about your guests in this way is a sure sign of luxury, don’t you think?

I believe in being responsive and answering your queries during the wedding planning process including those that niggle away at the back of your mind It’s important to me that I’m responsive to you as we plan your wedding. I know that as humans and especially with weddings, things can change very quickly. You can change your mind about something or decide to include something you hadn’t thought of before so when you make changes to what we had originally agreed (and I mean fundamental changes!) then you need to let me know straightaway. I in turn will get back to you within 24 hours to let you know what’s what and help with that decision making.

I’m not saying that I’ll be responding in the early hours or burning the midnight candle but we can definitely both agree contact times and ways to contact that mutually suits us especially if we’re in different timezones (I’m pretty flexible though and haven’t found this to be an issue at all) I support you as much as I can so you don’t feel like you’re alone in your wedding planning. I’ll be on hand to guide, tell you what’s what with my experience of the wedding industry and clarify any points of difference you may have. It is a privilege to help you plan your wedding and it is not something I take lightly.

Dream teams

As a luxury wedding planner surrey, I have an extensive network of wedding suppliers but I love to work with those I call dream teams – professionals who are equally as passionate and committed as I am to help you celebrate your love in style. Masters of their craft who believe in bringing their A game to every assignment. There is something about working with such excellent professionals that makes your wedding day run oh so smoothly and seamlessly from start to finish. I truly believe that magic happens when you assemble the right team for your wedding and that certainly adds to the luxury experience.
