From Alegrar Events to Kimberley Rose Designs – a whole new look! Why the change you may ask?
Well, as with everything in life, change they say is the only constant thing. My knowledge, experience and expertise of wedding planning and design has grown (and is still growing), and so has my business. I’m a lot more centred, more sure of my self and the clients that I want to serve so inevitably change and a rebrand was on the horizon.
‘Kimberley Rose Designs offers planning and design uniquely tailored to ensure a seamless, beautiful wedding celebration. We plan and design country house weddings, chic city weddings, and destination weddings and cover London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Berkshire, and European destinations.’
Why Kimberley Rose?
Well, it was always a big step, changing the name of a company completely and it certainly wasn’t one I took lightly. Whilst creating joyful celebrations for amazing clients like you is still on top of my list (Alegrar is Portuguese for rejoice), I felt the name Alegrar no longer served the new direction I want to take with my business which also now incorporated design and styling services. So, I decided on a name that is more aligned to my new direction of travel, and one that also has personal significance for me.
The name Kimberley means ‘from the wood of the royal forest’, I particularly like the references to wood and forest as they represent my love of nature, greenery and dark soil (always wish I had a garden where I can potter around to my heart’s content!) that I inherited from my Dad.
Growing up in Nigeria, my Dad would take my sisters and I to the farm to teach us how to farm and grow our own food. I remember tilling the dark soil with hoes, planting corn seeds, cassava stalks and yam seedlings and seeing them bud, sprout and grow to fullness, ready for harvesting and eating (after months of watering the plants and pulling away weeds!)
They were some of the best times of my life, going to the farm, as we spent a lot of time together then with my dad, learning and growing together as a family. Sadly, my dad is no longer with us so having my company called Kimberley Rose is my own little way of paying homage to him.
I’ve always known that I wanted to work in weddings and events and the rose was the name of the very first event company I set up many years ago now. I worked with my sister then and we used to organise and decorate birthdays, weddings and parties for friends and members of our church at the time, so I thought it would be nice to resurrect that and combine the two names. And, that’s how Kimberley Rose was born.
I worked with the incredible Lucy and her team at madcreative to design the logo and got it exactly how I wanted it (she was so patient with all my emails back and forth!) they also designed this fabulous website. I’m excited for the future and looking forward to serving you with my range of services under the Kimberley Rose brand, I can’t wait for what the future holds.
Be sure to get in touch and let me know what you think of my new site or how I can help with your wedding plans, I’d love to hear from you! x
